Item needing improvement

College students are lazy; we all know that. Sure there are a few exceptions, but all would choose to make their lives easier if they had the option. Not having a bathroom or even a sink in their dorm rooms is a great annoyance, and the long walk to the bathroom gets difficult when too many bottles, brushes, and bags are involved. At the end of the day some people don’t even bother washing their face or brushing their teeth—it’s too much of an inconvenience.

I propose a way to lighten the load a student must carry to the bathroom. Perhaps it would be possible to make some kind of electrical or manual toothbrush in which the toothpaste was held inside of the handle of the brush. With the simple push of a button, the toothpaste could seep onto the brush in exactly the right amount and then close itself without the brusher having to do a thing. This way the student would not have to carry the tube of paste to the bathroom or worry about screwing on and off the tiresome cap which inevitably will get lost or dirty.

  1. I live in the Radisson, so I don't have the problem of migrating to the bathroom constantly. Plenty of friends live in the regular dorms, though, and I know they often complain about the bathrooms. This product would also be great for travel, not just students. You might want to look into the travel restrictions on liquids so that the toothbrush/paste combo would not have any trouble making it onto planes.

  2. We discussed this the other day but I think its a great topic and there are several things you could change/improve on this. The one that comes to mind is improving the size of the toothbrush head for elderly, designing the toothbrush for children with cartoons, and for teenagers just making sleeker looking.

  3. This is a good idea.
They have this already in country club locker rooms just in case you really need to brush your teeth at the club and you left yours at home. But these toothbrushes are only one time use. After the one brush, the toothpaste is gone and it is just a regular cheap toothbrush.

I feel like this improvement would be wonderful. I agree with CF in that it would benefit travelers a bunch. They would have one less thing to remember to pack and the toothbrush/paste combo would save space.

  4. Thanks for all of your input guys! I really like the traveler idea. It's good too because I was already thinking that the brushes would be sold in different sizes meaning 3 ounces of paste verses 6 ounces of paste with a description of "Good for X amount of brushes." With the exact same amount of toothpaste being used every time, it will be easy for people to know when it's time to buy a new brush, or how many brushes to bring if going somewhere for a long period of time.
